Scripture:

Isaiah 25 : 6-8

6 On this mountain the LORD Almighty will prepare
a feast of rich food for all peoples,
a banquet of aged wine—
the best of meats and the finest of wines.

7 On this mountain he will destroy
the shroud that enfolds all peoples,
the sheet that covers all nations;

8 he will swallow up death forever.
The Sovereign LORD will wipe away the tears
from all faces;
he will remove the disgrace of his people
from all the earth.
The LORD has spoken.

Thoughts:
It sounds like a party. Banquets, and feasting sound like the Christmas party of the year- the one everyone wishes they could attend.

This party is definitely one you will want to be invited to… there is dancing on the grave of death, itself. All disgrace removed, all tears wiped away forever. Unless you have experienced the burden of disgrace, or the sting of copious tears, or the loss that death brings, you may not hold this party in such high regard. Or perhaps you have experienced such things in such grievous degrees that you have given up any idea of such a party, unsure it would matter to you anyway.

Today, you are invited to a future party. If you have a heart of compassion for slain innocence, for oppressed peoples, for suffering people to be relieved, for inequities being righted, for the healing of the nations…. then this is the party you have waited for, and desired. It is the final dance over death. It is for everybody who has suffered and wants to make things better in the world. They are to take their fill of life and its good, and see the grave clothes unwind and the captives go free. A festival untainted by continued injustice. When the mountain of trouble is turned into a mountain of grace and goodness, and people dance in freedom from the final oppressor: the fear of death.

The only requirement is that you pick up the proper attire from the Lord Jesus, receive the invitation engraved in His blood, then keep these things until the time of the party. What party is this? The marriage supper of the Lamb, Revelation 19:9. You are invited, please RSVP in prayer, directly to Jesus, the Lamb of God.
