I am starting some of my own new resources for celebrating Christmas, and for Advent in particular. There have always been the Christmas Pages, but now I have begun to create Squidoo lenses. What are these? A lens is a closeup look at a topic, and Squidoo is a community of “lensmasters”, people who enjoy writing and exploring in all sorts of subjects.

Surprise Calenders

In 2009 I noticed (and bought) a set of three Christmas houses with little doors for hiding a note, pieces of candy, or a small prize, one for each day before Christmas. They were available at Costco.

Attractive wooden calenders have been available at Target also. I think these would be ideal to tuck in the Jesse ornaments for a miniature tree.

The Hachez Haus Advent Calendar is one that holds a gourmet chocolate candy for each day. Maybe this should be an Advent calender for Mommy
